Healthy Caramel Flavoured Snack Balls

I suffer from a severe case of, ‘ it’s afternoon, I am hungry, tired in need of a snack and want to devour a chocolate bar’. So I decided to try and make my own sweet snack balls after trying a ‘caramel’  bland flavoured protein bar I bought form the chemist one afternoon.

This is a great caramel flavoured snack, it’s so good I am thinking of making a richer salted caramel version later, but please try one of these for now and let me know what you think!

Caramel flavoured snack balls

Ingredients:

Natural peanut butter – 2 Tablespoons
Natural salt flakes ( pink murray river, is the brand I prefer) – 3 pinches
Antioxidant coffee powder, – 1 Tablespoon
Skim milk powder, – 2 Tablespoons
Chia seeds, – 1 Tablespoon
Roasted almonds, – 170g
Maple syrup, – 3 Tablespoons
Medjool dates, – 6 – seeds removed

Method:

Blend together in a food processor all ingredients until nuts have been chopped and mixture is fully combined.
Then take tablespoon sized chunks of your mixture and roll into little balls. They will be sticky but if you place them in the freezer and pull them out as you go that will make them easier to handle and help them keep for longer. You can also keep them in the fridge.
